01 How it started
From art school to a needle and wool
After graduating from Edinburgh College of Art (Illustration and Animation), I always enjoyed three-dimensional work. When I learnt to needle felt, I realised I had found my new obsession — and I have never stopped.
Hello, my name is Fiona and I create needle felted animals and bespoke pet portraits. Each one is handmade, unique and made with love by me in Scotland.

02 Where & how it’s made
Photos in, character out
I’m always delighted to discuss any aspect of your special pet’s portrait. Please note the waiting list for custom portraits is roughly 18 months.
- Share photos. One to about fifty reference pictures — pose can be sitting, standing, or lying down.
- Build the form. A wire armature and wool colours chosen to match likeness and personality.
- Needle felt by hand. Each piece takes hours of careful work — dogs, cats, horses, birds, and more.
- Optional extras. Collars, toys, or a little of your pet’s own fur worked into the portrait on request.
